Welcome to Pleasant Hill Kindergarten! I hope that you all had a wonderful summer. I am very excited to begin a new school year. We will have lots of great learning experiences ahead of us. I would love to have each of you share something about your family on our classroom web page. You may just want to introduce yourself and share what your child’s name is that will be in the Kindergarten classroom. This will be a great way for us to get to know one another.
I have created this web page to make it easier to communicate information with you about what is happening in the classroom. The web page gives you a quick way to glance at our daily schedule, classroom rules and expectations, and shares with you the three main subject areas that are taught in Kindergarten including Reading, Writing, and Math. Within each subject area, there are different themes or chapters which focus on different topics of study. Feel free to browse through them to get familiar with what your child will be learning in the classroom throughout the year!
These first few weeks of school, we will be focusing on the story titled Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. This story is a fun rhyming story about the 26 letters of the alphabet. It will help children become familiar with the alphabet letters they will be learning more about throughout the school year. Be sure to have your child tell you all about the adventures of the letters in the story.
